Thanks to you and John for all your hard work in a tight timescale……the Cannington Court movie is truly stunning and was very much appreciated by everyone – what a wonderful way to show off a fabulous building that we are all extremely proud of.

Photography
I am a specialist photographer in the kind of photography required by companies working with all sorts of buildings… so we’re talking major contractors, consultants, developers, interior design companies, and architects. In my experience there are four main types of photography required by these companies; and this is what I provide. These are site construction progress photography, completed buildings interiors and exteriors. Publicity shots of events, commercial marketing images of building users & client employees, and office portraits for tenders, CVs. CRB checked, CSCS certified. My style is natural, beautiful.
Aerial cinematography and film-making
Working with an internationally experienced CAA drone pilot, we are Fardoulis & Gard, and we create aerial films of land, groundworks, progress, completed projects and archaeological digs for the purposes of documenting progress, inspections, and having a stunning promotional film of a completed project.
Who am I?
I worked in a management role within the construction industry for 6 years, before returning to photography. This means that I know my way around a construction site and construction terminology. I understand the key purposes that the photographs you request of me will be used for, and how important an individual image is in conveying the message that you require. Give me a call.

‘Place-makers of the City’ co-exhibition at The Architecture Centre 2013
Commissioned images for ‘Inside Bristol 20 years of Doors Open Day‘ book 2013
Frances took the majority of the photographs for the book ‘Inside Bristol’ which I produced to celebrate 20 years of ‘Bristol Doors Open Day’ – the popular event when, for one day each September, places of historic and contemporary significance not usually accessible, open their doors for free to the general public. Frances was a great person to work with – I would give her a list of venues and contact names, she would liaise and arrange everything and just a few days later she would send me a splendid collection of photos that exactly captured the spirit of the various places!
I require the service of a talented photographer, but not only this; Frances has excellent knowledge of the industry which many photographers do not have. This helps me hugely. In particular she understands the health & Safety requirements for imagery, working with the site teams to ensure that images are perfect for use.
Another reason why we rate Frances is because she always delivers from a creative perspective; I will often get her input on marketing briefs and she has some great fresh ideas. For event photography she is extremely good at organising groups and managing people. But most importantly for me and the team; she is great to work with. I highly recommend her.
Frances is a very gifted and professional photographer who shows great enthusiasm for her work. Frances has travelled far and wide to take the shots, often with early morning starts and late evening returns and does this willingly and without complaint. Her images have greatly enhanced our portfolio and have enabled us to showcase our expertise and win more work. We are very happy to give her the strongest endorsement.
The Architecture Centre has benefited hugely from its ongoing working relationship with Frances. In numerous formats (capturing portraits, exhibits, buildings, events and parties) and a cross different platforms (for publications, exhibitions, web sites and apps) she has always produced fantastic work.
Two particular special commissions include: six portraits for our 2012 exhibition The Changing Face of British Architecture, and documenting Bristols ’10 Best Buildings’ for ‘Bristol Opening Doors’ heritage lottery project. She is fun and friendly!
Frances’ talents as a photographer have been proved on many assignments where I’ve commissioned her to assist in projects. She understands immediately what is required, takes the minimum amount of time to get into the way of things on site and with the team and gets everything organised with the utmost efficiency and good timing. People listen to her and do what they are meant to do and, in her hands, even the buildings come to life. It’s brilliant. She handles all situations with intelligence, great skills, competence and confidence – finding ways round things, getting the right angle and pre-empting everything to get the best shot. I’ve also commissioned her for personal and team portraits and she’s great to work with on all levels, making even the most nervous of subjects feel at ease.
I have no hesitation in recommending her for any photographic assignment – she’s fabulous!
I have known Frances for 15 years and across that time she has provided insightful and intelligent professional advice & photography in support of the Kier business – both portrait work & the built environment. She challenged the status quo of traditional photography and brought a vibrant edge to her presentation work that assisted Kier increase its penetration in the markets she assisted with.
I am delighted to endorse her.
Frances… Delighted to endorse your work. The shots that you have taken of TFT’s projects and people over the last few years have been superb; interesting, unusual and evocative.
Having Frances Gard photograph our project has been an important part of the process. Frances’ understanding of the situation, people and environment is second to none. The images encapsulate the moment every time, and we always look forward to seeing them.
